Bedtime Routine Lullaby Mix
15 songs · 45 min · warm to very soft · fades out
Picks the playlist that matches the time of day where you are.
Bedtime, in four soft steps
Music that gets softer as the evening goes
Many bedtime routines go in the same order: wind down, a story, lights out, then sleep. Each step has its own lullaby playlists, and each step is a little slower and quieter than the one before.
Wind down
Before the routine
The lights get lower, the voices get softer, the day slows down. Warm, easy music for baths, pyjamas and tidying up.
Story time
In bed with a book
Pillows, a book, a small lamp. Gentle tunes with a little wonder in them, quiet enough to read over.
Lights out
Stars and moon
The lamp clicks off. Slow, glowing, spacious songs for the first minutes of the dark.
Deep night
Softest of all
The quietest music on the site: soft textures, long notes and almost nothing that stands out.
The lullaby shelf
Eight lullaby playlists, one moon each
Each moon is one playlist. The fuller the moon, the lighter the mood; the thinner it gets, the quieter the music. Pick a step, or play whichever moon feels right.

The short answer
What are good lullaby songs?
A good lullaby is slow, soft and steady, with a simple melody and nothing sudden in it. Sung classics like “Hush, Little Baby” fit that description, and so do instrumental songs with the same calm shape. Every song on this site is an original instrumental, free to play and free to use with credit.
Five tips for lullaby music
- Pick one playlist and keep the pattern the same each night.
- Keep the volume low, quieter than a conversation.
- Use the sleep timer so the music fades out gently.
- Loop it, so nothing stops halfway.
- Try Night light mode to dim the page.

Questions
Lullaby songs, answered
What are the best lullaby songs to play at bedtime?
Start with the Bedtime Routine Lullaby Mix on this page: 45 minutes that start warm and get softer. If you want one step only, pick a playlist: Wind-Down, Storybook, Twinkling Stars or Deep Sleep Lullabies.
Are these lullabies instrumental?
Yes, all of them. There are no lyrics. They are gentle, slow instrumentals (lofi-style, with soft keys, guitar and pads) rather than sung nursery songs.
Is this “Twinkle, Twinkle” or “Brahms’ Lullaby”?
No. Those are traditional songs. This site only has original instrumental music by Purrple Cat, written in the same calm spirit. See the Classic lullabies page for the story of the famous ones.
Will this help my baby sleep?
We can’t promise that, and this site is not medical advice. Every child is different. Many people like a calm, consistent sound as part of an evening routine. For sleep or safety questions, ask your health professional.
Does it have a sleep timer and a fade-out?
Yes. Use the moon button in the player: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or after the current song. The music fades out slowly instead of stopping with a click. The Bedtime Routine mix sets a 45-minute timer for you.
Can I use this music in my videos and livestreams?
Yes, with credit. Use it on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and other social media, in videos, streams, apps, shops and classrooms. Add the credit “Music by Purrple Cat”.
